VIRGINIA HAYES SIBBISON
Executive Director
Virginia Hayes Sibbison, PhD, has been Executive Director of WRI since 1974.
Dr. Sibbison oversees all WRI projects and works closely with executive staff in public and private nonprofit agencies. The emphasis of her own research and training activities has been child welfare, mental health, AIDS and other health issues, adult literacy, and youth employment. She has researched and written reports on school violence prevention, girls at risk, summer youth employment programs, child and adolescent sexual abusers, and absent fathers, and has conducted research into family engagement strategies.
Dr. Sibbison has also conducted training and participated in workshops on program evaluation, funding strategies, and grantsmanship for nonprofit agencies.
Besides serving on a number of state and federal committees and task forces,
Dr. Sibbison is Treasurer of the Board of Directors of the Groves Conference on Marriage and Family and a Trustee member of Astor Services for Children & Families.
Dr. Sibbison has a PhD in human development and a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Pennsylvania State University.
